The GLAAD Wrap: Gore Vidal Documentary, Neil Patrick Harris' Adventure Memoir, and more!

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1. The new documentary Gore Vidal: The United States of Amnesiaopens in New York City and Los Angeles this weekend. Gore Vidal was a seminal gay American writer who wrote The City and the Pillar, and who passed away in 2012. Director Nicholas Wrathall includes many footage of Vidal and interviews. Watch the trailer below:

2. The trailer for the new filmClouds of Sils Maria debuted this week, just ahead of the film's premiere at Cannes. Starring Juliet Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloe Grace Moretz, Clouds follows an actress (Binoche) who is considering taking part in a play that she helped make famous 20 years ago the younger role.  While the play is the story of a woman seduced by a young girl, in real life the actress may also be falling in love with her younger assistant (Stewart).  Check out the trailer below:

3. Out indie-pop singer Allison Weiss will release her new EP 'Remember Me' on July 22nd. You can stream the single "Giving Up" here. Weiss is also joining the Vans Warp Tour in July, for dates check Allison Weiss' website.4. Neil Patrick Harris is releasing a "choose your own adventure" memoir. The autobiography allows readers to choose their own experience through Neil Patrick Harris' life, or alternate reality versions of it. "Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography" will be released October 2014 and is now available for pre-order.5. Chris Colfer has announced he will embark on a book store for his new fantasy novel The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning, beginning July 8 in New York City. The documentary State & Union: Lesbian Families in the Deep South follows the lives of several lesbian families living in the state of Alabama, and is currently raising production funds on Indiegogo and 1/3 of the way to its $100,000 goal.
